SS Agar - Typhoid Dysentery Diagnostic Medium

Salmonella Shigella Agar extreme selective formulation (bile salts, brilliant green, sodium citrate) inhibits coliforms/enteric competitors while permitting Salmonella/Shigella growth. Lactose/neutral red differentiates fermenters (pink inhibited colonies) from pathogens (colorless). Ferric citrate detects H2S producers (Salmonella) with black precipitate centers.
